I Love to Talk (With You!)
Manifesto: You might have seen posts to the effect that a single AO3 comment will keep a fanfic writer going for months. The same is just as true for original writing!
This is not a marketing "call to action" - I'm not writing this for money, directly or indirectly, and I have no plans to do so. Nor am I chasing virality, as much as the poster's brain must light up when there's a new number. Writing is communication, right? I write to make a connection--to put a feeling out there and see the different ways people have of experiencing it. Everyone's a lens.
So I don't want money, and I don't want big number, but if you enjoy this story I do wanna hear about it! Hell, if you have mixed feelings I'd love to hear about it also! If you didn't like it at all, well, I doubt you stuck around to read dev diaries related to it, unless it so incensed you that it filled you with some kind of Zenigata-like need to duel me until the end of time.
Point is, when your target audience is a few dozen to a couple hundred discerning sickos, it's certainly nice to see someone liked it, but exponentially sweeter to see what it looks like through their lens. Don't be shy!
